According to the national standards, forklifts should be inspected once a year; forklifts used under harsh conditions need to be inspected frequently to detect any defects or permanent deformation, and take relevant technical measures to eliminate potential unsafe hazards. The inspection of forklift trucks and forks should be carried out by professional technicians. It is found that the forklift has any defects such as hindering safe use, failure and obvious deformation. It must be stopped using. It can only be used after strict repair and passing the test and acceptance.

货叉表面裂纹(尤其货叉根部、上钩、下钩及垂直段的连接处)，一经发现，两叉尖之间的高度差，超过水平段长度的3%，货叉必须停止使用。使用中还必须保证定位销在原位处于良好的维护和正常的工况，若发现任何故障，货叉在进行良好的修复之前必须停止使用。应定期彻底检查货叉水平段和垂直段的磨损程度，尤其是货叉根部，若其厚度减少原来的90%也应停止使用。货叉的上挂钩支承面以及上下挂钩的定位面的磨损、积压及其它局部变形，致使货叉和叉架之间的间隙增大，必须修复之后方可使用。

在没有条件的情况下，货叉断损好更换新件、不允许凑合使用，即使货叉焊修后，只有经过严格的技术标准检验，达到原厂规范要求之后，方可投入使用。
