我国现在铁路运输的装卸搬运作业费，大致占运输费用20%左右，而船运则高达40%左右。可见装卸搬运费在整个物流费用当中的比重相当高。降低装卸搬运成本的途径在于采取现代化机械设备，实行科学管理，提高作业效率。
